The Hidden Danger in Your Food #1
This is the first of several posts on dangerous things in our food. This first item is MSG – monosodium glutamate which is a flavor enhancer. I first found out about MSG in 1994. We were living in Noveleta a little town in the Philippines. Our neighbor and friend was teaching Lois how to make a Philippine dish and it was starting to cook when she said she forgot something and ran home coming back with some white powder and dumped it in the pot.
We had that stuff for supper that evening and I got really sick, felt real bad with headache and nausea etc. We found out the white powder was MSG and since that time we have watched real close to not use anything with it in it. It is hidden behind many different names so you can never be sure.
