You must wonder why a man would be writing about fibroids when it is a women’s problem, but is it only a women’s problem?

I submit to you that any problem my wife has affects me also. What happened back in the late 60′s made this my problem when my wife started having problems that the doctors said was an infection and over a period of 3 years was hospitalised several times and never had any help.

Finally she went to a specialist in Boise that diagnosed her with a tumor and they found a large fibroid tumor and did a hysterectomy. Thankfully it was benign and she recovered well with no more trouble.

So we had spent a lot of money on misdiagnosis and she went through a lot of pain and suffering over that period of time. Did that affect me? you better believe it did and at that time we were broke because of debts from a failed farming business that had put us in deep debt.

So now you know the reason this means something to me, a man. If you can keep from having surgery over these things you will be much better off so as I find more about alternative treat for fibroids I will write about it for you.

Here are just two examples of fibroids:

Subserosal Fibroids

This type of fibroid is located in the serosa (outermost layer) and outside the wall of the uterus, also called the womb. They continue their outward growth. Subserosal fibroids can cause tissue compression on areas that are surrounding it, such as the bladder and/or bowel. They are not generally the cause of excessive bleeding, as they do not affect a woman’s menstrual flow.

Intramural Fibroids

Intra means inside, so intramural fibroids are those that are found inside the uterine wall. These are the most common type of fibroid tumor. Since they develop and grow inside the uterine wall, the result is that they make the uterus feel as if it is larger.

This is known as the “bulk syndrome.” Their growth can cause pressure both on the bladder as well as the uterus, pelvic and back pain, excessive bleeding and frequent urination. They may also be responsible for many miscarriages and infertility issues.

The Fibroid Cure contains information on how to overcome each type of fibroid. We will look at two more kinds of fibroid next time.

If you have uterine fibroids, or suspect you might have fibroids, one of the things you’ll be wondering is “Why me?”

This is a very important question, and one that plagues many women who suffer from fibroids. The simple answer to why women get fibroids is that there is no absolute cause, or none that can be directly pinpointed.

The Causes Of Fibroids Confuses Experts

What medical researchers and physicians do know is that fibroids are greatly affected by changing estrogen levels, which play a part in the fibroid tumor development and growth.

The causes of fibroids can be genetic, hormonal, environmental or some combination of all of these. Confusing, eh?

In fact, doctors are sure that these risk factors and potentially causal agents all interact with each other to increase the likelihood of fibroid development.

Fibroids And Estrogen

When a woman’s estrogen levels increase, for example, during pregnancy, fibroids tend to grow at a more rapid pace.

Taking contraceptive pills (birth control pills) also floods the body with estrogen.

Women taking contraceptive pills, therefore, have higher levels of estrogen, and are more likely to develop fibroids. When women are in menopause, and levels of estrogen naturally decrease, fibroids also decrease, shrink or disappear.

Basically, it all ties into estrogen, which elevates a woman’s risk for developing fibroids.

The Fibroid Cure contains information on how to balance your hormones by decreasing the excess estrogen that causes fibroids to grow in the first place.
